Protestujmy przeciwko emisji serialu "Nasze matki, nasi ojcowie" w BBC2

Szanowni Państwo zachęcam do wysyłania maili do prezesa stacji BBC Tony’ego Halla w związku z planowaną na jutro emisją filmu „Nasze matki, nasi ojcowie” w BBC2.

Dear Mr. Hall,

according to press releases, your television, to be exact BBC 2, intends to broadcast a controversial German series “Our Mothers, Our Fathers”, and worth to notice, at a good airtime.

I would like to stress that the film presents a false image of history. It exempts the Germans from liability for the crimes committed during World War II, especially for extermination of Jews, and shifts the blame onto the Poles and other nations, who were occupied by Germans at that time. A Polish resistant movement, Armia Krajowa, that was the biggest such an organization in Europe, is shown as the Home Army responsible for anti-Semitism in Poland. In contrast, German heroes are shown multi-dimensionally as nice young people with moral dilemmas.

I can’t imagine, that such a reputable television as BBC will broadcast a series, that has nothing in common with historical truth. The function of a television, especially a public one, is to provide trustworthy information. Media have a huge impact on the creating of conscience, especially of young people. Hence, you have to take into account this fact, when making a decision upon broadcasting the film.

Thus, I count on your understanding and reprieving of broadcasting a series “Our Mothers, Our Fathers”, that presents falsified image of the European history.

                                                                                                              Yours sincerely

                                                                                                              Marek Migalski
